I would like to see a forum
With a forum we could post where we are going next and perhaps if anyone else wants to they can tag along.
22 votesForum is now up and running at https://talk.aussiebushwalking.com/ I need the help of the community now to make something of it.

Provide "bucket list" for storing walks you'd like to do
Allow users to add walks to their bucket list. Walks would be removed automatically once they're ticket. Simply allows them to remember which walks they wanted to try. (suggested via email)

In Map View change colour of ticked walks
It would be handy in map view if the pins/markers were a different colour for walks that the user has marked as ticked.
12 votesThis is now up and running. Ticked walks have a big tick on the pin instead of the hiking person.

Advanced Search
It would be great if you could do a more advanced search. Eg, I would like to do walk that takes less than 2 hours, medium/low difficulty and is near Brisbane. Currently I would have to search Brisbane and click every map pin to find which ones are available.
11 votesNew search facility is up and running. I’ll also add a new suggestion on UserVoice to display the results on a map. Please add your votes if you’d like to see that.

Uploading of a photo or two of the walk or view.
Just a photo or two of the walk or view to show what that walk is about. I love climbing mountains so I would love to see the views of walks I am about to do

Text search to find bush walk
Being able to find a walk through a text search would make the site easier to use (tick off tracks completed).
8 votesSearch is now available. I’ve used Google search as it was easy to implement. Hopefully in the future I’ll revisit and provide some extra features a bit more specific to Aussie Bushwalking, but for the moment at least you can finally search the site easily.
This one has taken awhile considering it has been on my todo list since day 1!

Facebook Integration
I'd like Aussie Bushwalking to post to my Facebook wall when I tick a walk.
7 votesAussie Bushwalking→Facebook integration is finally up. Now you can have Aussie Bushwalking post straight to facebook when you tick off a walk. Just go to “My Profile”→“Connect to Facebook” and follow the instructions.

Show the username of a user on their photos
If a user has chosen to have a public profile and they upload a photo, acknowledge them when people click on that photo
5 votesI had to check the logs to find who had uploaded some users so apologies if any of them have been attributed incorrectly. Should be all up and running now.

Add an edit option for comments
I accidentally added the wrong date to my comment, and cannot edit it. I suggest that an edit option for comments would be handy :)
4 votesYou can now edit comments from your profile page or from the comments at the bottom of the walk page. Look for the little pencil icon or the cross if you want to delete the comment.

Change 'popular walks' to only count 1 tick/person.
This will prevent some walks from moving to the top of the list because one user does the walk every week. Instead it will make it popular based on how many different people tick the walk.

Thanks again Rob. I’ve fixed this up and also added photos for the walk when somebody ticks one. I need to take a look at the layout though as it could be a bit nicer.

Bug Fix: Cannot view details of some walks due to text wrapping problem
You cannot click through (View Details) in map view of some walks due to the text not wrapping correctly. When you hover over a walk, brief information about the walk appears. For some of the walks the text stops you from viewing more details on the walk. This problem tends to occur on walks that have a photos uploaded with vertical orientation. This problem happens in IE, Firefox and Chrome. Please fix as I would like to know more information about these walks :-)
I have uploaded a screenshot of what the problem looks like: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13117130/MapProblem.jpg
3 votesNew design has removed the text so no longer an issue.

Add Minutes as Possible Duration Value
In the Add/Edit walk section there are currently only two options to chose from Hours and Days. This makes it difficult for shorter walks because people have different ideas of what a fraction of an hour is. Eg I have seen 0.5 to mean 30 minutes while others are using it to represent 50 minutes. If we were able to add minutes this would reduce this confusion. Thank you
3 votesThe minutes option should now be available through both add and edit pages.

One-way and Return Missing from Walk Details page
The walk detail page no longer shows whether the walk distance and time is one-way or return. This happens even when the walk contains the one-way/return detail on the edit page. This issue is present on the desktop and mobile versions.
3 votesThanks for finding this. Fixed now.

Walking Distance: One-Way or Return
It would be great if you could add an option next to the distance/time inputs that indicate whether the time is for a one-way or return journey. It's possible that the user creating the walk could enter it as either and other walkers may unexpectedly experience a walk half or double the duration :-) Having the one-way or return makes it clear.
3 votesThis option has now been added for new and existing walks. No values have actually been set for existing walks so that’ll be a job for us all in the coming months :)

Cannot Select Distance When Adding a Walk
When adding a new walk you cannot select the distance and time scales now. In place it shows a javascripty kind text. You can workaround this by creating the walk and editing it and selecting the required scale. See image: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13117130/ABError.JPG
3 votesThanks Rob. I missed that in my testing. All fixed now.

Bug: Walks Can Be Ticked in the Future
An easy thing to fix. It is currently possible tick a walk where the date has not occurred yet. The tick walk screen should include validation to prevent the user from accidently ticking a walk in the future.
Sometimes users accidently change the tick day but forget to adjust the month/year (I have done this myself). For example a user has recently ticked a walk for 29/01/2015 (today is 03/01/2015).
3 votesThis has been fixed. The UI isn’t very pretty but all new UI will hopefully be coming soon.

Photo Captions (make them visible)
Currently when you upload a photo to a walk it asks for a caption. Once uploaded the caption is not visible anywhere. I am thinking it should be placed under the photo when in full view. Also, at the moment when adding a photo the caption is required, it would be nice if it was optional.
3 votesI’m still considering whether to make the captions optional, but I’ve fixed the bug that was preventing them showing up under the photos in full view. Thanks for reporting this!

Navigate To . . .
It would be handy if the mobile version of the site had a "Navigate To" button which would send the GPS co-ordinates of the walk to the user's mapping app (eg Google Maps, OsmAnd, etc).
As navigation to the start of a walk can be tricky (navigation may not give the most optimal route) maybe a prompt could also be introduced after the user clicks to remind them to review the "Getting there" details on the walk details page.
3 votesDone! I also plan to later add the ability to specify the parking location separate to the walk location so this navigate option is more accurate.

"Done This Walk" Tick Count Incorrect
When viewing the details of a walk the section on the right (under the map) shows "Done this walk? This walk has been ticked x times". This number is incorrect and inconsistent with other tick counts on the site.
For example on the homepage (Popular panel) Mt Warning shows 100 people as having ticked this walk. When viewing the full detail of the walk (http://www.aussiebushwalking.com/nsw/mt-warning-national-park/mt-warning-summit-trail) the "Done this walk?" section says it has been ticked 20 times, and 63 comments have been made. It is not possible for 100 people to have done the walk yet it only…
3 votesGood catch Rob. I’ve fixed that up now. Mt Warning is now showing 122 ticks – obviously lots of people like going there more than once :)
