  1. I wish that the official waterfall heights could be listed because you eorroneously have ellenborough falls rated as the second highest in the southern hemisphere. This dates back to the 50's and 60's when people believed that Australia was the only place in the Southern Hemisphere. Apparently there are other countries and, if you bother to check, it will become apparent that Ellenborough wouldn't even appear on any sane listing of tall waterfalls in the Southern Hemisphere, lovely though it is. Cheers, Ian

I’ve updated the two walks associated with Ellenborough Falls. I can’t find any ‘official’ waterfall heights that could be used but a quick search finds plenty that are higher. Geoscience Australia has it in its list of significant waterfalls so I’ve updated the description to reflect that.

Also note that any user can sign up and correct information on the site.

  2. Completed walks are duplicated, one table in the new format and one in the old. Make it more difficult to navigate. See screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pdzhalqk2fy5ggl/myprofile%20duplicated.JPG?dl=0

  3. Allow users to add walks to their bucket list. Walks would be removed automatically once they're ticket. Simply allows them to remember which walks they wanted to try. (suggested via email)

  4. When attempting to merge a walk the combo box does not expand (listing which walk to perform the merge with). Clicking Lookup does not return any results. This makes merging impossible. I am trying to merge the two walks below. Have tried IE, Firefox and Chrome, all have the same behavior.

  6. The walk detail page no longer shows whether the walk distance and time is one-way or return. This happens even when the walk contains the one-way/return detail on the edit page. This issue is present on the desktop and mobile versions.

  7. It would be handy if the mobile version of the site had a "Navigate To" button which would send the GPS co-ordinates of the walk to the user's mapping app (eg Google Maps, OsmAnd, etc).

As navigation to the start of a walk can be tricky (navigation may not give the most optimal route) maybe a prompt could also be introduced after the user clicks to remind them to review the "Getting there" details on the walk details page.

  8. It would be handy if the walk details page included an elevation profile. This way the user will be able to gauge what they are in for (should they choose to do the walk). The profile would be taken from the uploaded GPX/KML (if exists). This idea supersedes the climb idea submitted previously. Thank you

  9. The new categorisation tags are great. I would like to suggest a few more:
Create new category Environment: Rainforest, Coastal (existing tags). Add:
    Swamp/wetland
    Arid/desert

    Add to Features category:
    Picnic Facilities
    BBQ
    Toilets
    Bird Watching

    Thank you

  10. Currently walks have distance, duration and difficulty. The difficulty attribute can vary depending on the users opinion (sometimes a couple of extra twigs on the track can alter the difficulty). For example the walk "Mount Beerburrum Lookout" is marked as hard but 'technically' it is easy (it's 700m of sealed path but a 150m climb).

In conjunction with all of these attributes I would like the "Climb (meters)" attribute. This will make it easier for users to better gauge what they are in for.

As I track my walks via GPS I have the climb attribute of ~150 walks.

Climb attribute has been added now along with a max elevation as well (which can be useful for high altitude locations that we don’t really experience much in Australia). Still some work to do with ongoing calculation from GPS but I’ve calculated it for any GPS data we have at the moment.

  11. Hi, currently when viewing the map the difficulty filter is a set of radio buttons. This means only one difficulty can be viewed on the map at a time. Often I want to view by multiple difficulties (eg Easy and Medium) but not all (I almost always exclude Very Hard). At the moment each time the user navigates around the map the user must adjust the difficulty filter to display the walks they are interested in. Please update the filter to a set of check boxes so the user can select multiple difficulty filters. Thank you

This is now done. I’ve also changed duration and ticked/unticked to use checkboxes (mainly to remove a couple of lines from the layer control), The site will also remember your selections between visits.

  12. Attempting to merge a walk fails. For example Binna Burra, Lamington National Park QLD has two walks (one is duplicated). Using "caves circut" as the source and "Caves walk" as the target after the merge details are filled out and Save is clicked the page returns "Server Error in '/' Application". Please correct this so walks can be merged. Thank you

  15. There should be a Facebook page set up dedicated to this site. That way people can "like", discuss, and follow Aussiebushwalking.com on Facebook. This will help the site become a lot more popular.

  16. It would be nice if there was a way to add 'tags' to a walk for the use of searching. For example just say if a user would like to do a walk that contains a waterfall but does not know a walk that has this.

Examples of tags could be: waterfall, coastal, scenic lookout, wheelchair, swimming hole, rainforest, you could add more later. These tags would be selectable on the advanced search screen.

  19. When viewing photos from a walk the count of images is incorrect, it is always double what it should be. For example using the new walk Barrenjoey Lighthouse to Avalon, it has 8 photos uploaded however when clicking one of the thumbnails it says "Image 1 of 16". Please update so it is the correct amount. Thank you

  20. An easy thing to fix. It is currently possible tick a walk where the date has not occurred yet. The tick walk screen should include validation to prevent the user from accidently ticking a walk in the future.

Sometimes users accidently change the tick day but forget to adjust the month/year (I have done this myself). For example a user has recently ticked a walk for 29/01/2015 (today is 03/01/2015).
